Decent for the price, but not amazing

Needed some oil for my car's next service and Motul came up. I'm always looking for a good deal, you know, trying to save a bit where I can. The pricing here was kinda average, honestly. Didn't see any big discounts or special offers that really made me jump. I mean, it's oil, it does the job. But I was hoping for maybe a bundle deal or a first-time buyer discount or something that would make it feel like a real steal. Shipping was okay, nothing to write home about.

Good quality oil, minor delivery hiccup

Needed some fresh engine oil for my car's next service, and Motul always comes recommended. The website was pretty straightforward to navigate, found what I needed quickly. Price seemed fair for the quality you get. The oil itself is top-notch, always feel a difference after a change. My only small issue was the delivery took a day longer than the initial estimate. Not a huge deal, but just something to note if you're on a tight schedule. Everything arrived well-packaged though, no leaks or anything. Will likely order again for the next service.

Motul is the BEST!

Oh my goodness, I just had to leave a review for Motul! I was seriously blown away by how easy it was to find exactly what I needed for my car. The website is super clean and navigating through all the different automotive lubricants was a breeze! I got my order so fast too, like, unexpectedly fast! And the product itself? AMAZING quality. My engine is singing a happy song now, seriously! I'm telling all my car enthusiast friends about this place. Definitely shopping here again!

Good stuff for the car, mostly

Okay, so I finally got around to ordering some engine oil from Motul for my car. Needed it for the next service, you know? The website was pretty straightforward to navigate, found what I needed without too much hassle. Delivery was alright, took about four days which isn't super fast but not bad either. The oil itself seems good, my mechanic said it's a decent brand. My only tiny thing is that the tracking updates kinda stopped for a day in the middle, so I wasn't sure when it would actually show up. But it got here eventually, so no big deal really. Happy with it overall.

Good oil, but delivery was a bit slow

First time buying Motul oil directly from their site. I've used their products before, usually from local shops, but figured I'd try ordering online for convenience. The 4T oil I got for my bike is top-notch, as expected. My engine runs smooth with it, always has. The website was easy enough to navigate to find the right product for my Honda. My only minor gripe was the shipping time. It took about a week to get to me, which felt a little long compared to other online automotive stores I've used. Not a deal-breaker, but something they could improve. Packaging was decent though, no spills or anything.

Buying Considerations

Product Quality

Motul is well-regarded for its high-quality products, especially in the performance and synthetic lubricant categories. Their commitment to research and development means their products often feature advanced formulations that meet or exceed industry standards. While some products might be at a higher price point, the quality often justifies the investment in terms of engine protection and performance. You can read Motul customer reviews for more insights on specific products.

Budget Considerations

While Motul offers premium products, they also have options across different price points. It's important to balance your budget with your vehicle's requirements. Investing in a higher-quality engine oil, for example, can save money in the long run by reducing wear and extending engine life. Always check the specifications in your vehicle's manual to ensure compatibility, as using the wrong lubricant can cause damage.

Brand Selection

Motul specializes in automotive lubricants and care products. Their focus is on delivering high-performance solutions. When purchasing from Motul, you are choosing a brand with a long history of innovation and a strong presence in professional motorsports, which often translates to reliable products for consumer use.

Warranty or Support Considerations

As lubricants are consumable products, they typically do not come with a warranty in the traditional sense. However, purchasing from authorized retailers like Motul.IndianOnlineSeller.com ensures that you receive genuine products. In case of any product-related issues or queries, you can reach out to Motul's customer service for support. Always ensure to store lubricants correctly to maintain their integrity.

Best Time To Buy

Seasonal Promotions

Keep an eye out for seasonal promotions, particularly during major festivals or holiday seasons in India. Motul often runs discounts or special offers around these times to attract buyers. These could include percentage-off deals or bundle offers on popular products.

Festival Sales

Major Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, or during the automotive season (pre-monsoon checks, winter preparations) can be excellent times to find deals on Motul products. Retailers often participate in these sales events, offering competitive prices.

Clearance Opportunities

Occasionally, you might find clearance sales, especially when new product lines are introduced or older stock needs to be moved. While less common for core lubricants, look for these on accessories or specific product variants. Check Motul coupons and deals for any active discount opportunities.

Special Shopping Periods

Events like Black Friday (though traditionally American, increasingly popular in India) or end-of-financial-year sales can also present opportunities for discounts. Subscribing to newsletters from Motul or IndianOnlineSeller.com can notify you of upcoming sales.

Money Saving Tips

  1. Buy in Bulk: If you use a particular Motul product regularly, consider buying larger quantities when available, as per-unit costs are often lower.
  2. Utilize Coupon Codes: Always search for active Motul coupons and deals before making a purchase. Check IndianOnlineSeller.com for the latest offers.
  3. Compare Prices: While IndianOnlineSeller.com strives for competitive pricing, a quick comparison with other authorized dealers might occasionally yield better deals.
  4. Sign Up for Newsletters: Subscribe to Motul and IndianOnlineSeller.com newsletters to receive alerts about sales, new products, and exclusive discounts.
  5. Look for Bundles: Motul often offers product bundles, such as chain care kits or oil change kits, which can be more cost-effective than buying individual items.
  6. Follow Social Media: Brands sometimes announce flash sales or exclusive discounts on their social media channels.
  7. Plan Purchases: If you know you'll need an oil change or other maintenance soon, plan your purchase around known sales periods to maximize savings.

My Motul engine flush instructions say to run the engine for 10-15 mins. Is it safe to leave it running longer, say 20-25 mins, for a really dirty engine? Or is that asking for trouble?

T TechFreak 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I wouldn't go past the recommended time. These flushes are potent, and leaving them in too long can sometimes degrade seals or gaskets, especially in older engines. Better to do two shorter flushes with a fresh oil change in between if you think it's super dirty.
19
V VivekK 1 month ago
Yeah, follow the instructions. They're there for a reason.
1
G GamerRaj 1 month ago
That's what I was worried about. Thanks for the advice!

A Akhil 1 month ago
Which engine flush are you using? Some are designed to be gentler. But generally, longer isn't necessarily better with chemicals.
12
G GamerRaj 1 month ago
It's the standard Motul Engine Flush. Not sure if there are different types.
3
S Sneha22 1 month ago
I've done 20 mins once on my old car, but it probably wasn't ideal. Didn't cause any immediate issues, but it's a risk. Why not just follow the instructions?

Just felt like it needed extra cleaning. But I guess not worth the risk.

Just got the Motul NGEN 7 10W-40 4T for my bike. Heard good things, but wonder how it holds up long term, especially over 4-5k km. Anyone been using it for a while?

D Deepak87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I've been on NGEN 7 for about 6 months now, probably 5k+ km on my Pulsar. Performance is consistent, no noticeable drop-off in smoothness or sound. Definitely better than the stock oil I used before.
12
D Deepak87 1 month ago
Yeah, it's a solid choice for the price. I change it every 4k km just to be safe.

Good to hear! My mechanic was pushing for 7100 but NGEN 7 was more in my budget.
6

I switched to NGEN 7 after reading some reviews. So far, engine feels less stressed in traffic. Hard to tell long term yet, but first impressions are positive.

Same experience here! The gearbox feels slicker too.

Which bike are you running it on? I used it on my Gixxer for a couple of services, felt okay, but I prefer the 7100 for sheer refinement. NGEN 7 is good, but 7100 just feels a bit smoother at higher RPMs.

It's for my Apache. I'm not a high-revving kind of rider mostly city commutes.

Then NGEN 7 should be perfect for your use case.

Anyone else finding it hard to get Motul 300V locally these days? My usual shop is out, and online prices seem a bit inflated. Looking for the 15W-50 variant.

R RahulS 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, supply has been patchy for 300V. I heard there were some production delays or something. Check some of the bigger online auto parts stores, sometimes they have better stock than local shops, even if prices are up a bit.
9
B BikeLover 1 month ago
That explains it then. My local dealer said the same about delays. Guess I'll have to pay the premium.

Maybe try calling Motul customer service, they might know which dealers have stock or when the next shipment is due.

I switched to Motul 7100 15W-50 recently because 300V was impossible to find. It's not quite the same, but still a very good oil and easier to source.

I agree, 300V is a different league, especially for performance bikes.

I've considered 7100, but my bike just loves 300V. The difference in engine response is noticeable for me.
